MOMBASA COUNTY INTRODUCES RIBA-FREE STAWISHA FUND TO EMPOWER SMALL TRADERS

The County Government of Mombasa has launched the Stawisha Revolving Fund , a new financing initiative aimed at empowering small traders and micro-business owners across the county through riba-free, interest-free loans . The programme seeks to provide an alternative source of affordable business capital for residents who want to start, expand or strengthen their small businesses without taking conventional interest-bearing loans. Biashara Mtaani Loan Offers Up to KSh 15,000 The first phase of the Mombasa County Revolving Fund is the Biashara Mtaani programme. Under this phase, eligible applicants can access an interest-free loan of between KSh 8,000 and KSh 15,000 to support their micro-business activities. The financing is intended to benefit a wide range of small-scale traders, including young people, women, marginalised communities and other eligible micro-business operators .
